The Aventon electric mountain bike is one of the newest additions to Aventon’s e-bike selection. It’s a sleek, efficient electric bike with a flashy paint job. Compared to my previous model, it’s lighter, more rugged, and easier to assemble. Oh, and it handles technical terrain well, although more experienced riders might prefer an upgrade to rear suspension.
If you’re looking for a lightweight e-bike to extend your biking range, keep up with younger riders, or dip your toes into the mountain biking world, the Aventon Ramblas is perfect. This Aventon Ramblas review covers the bike’s specs, features, and how easy it is to put together to help you decide if Aventon’s first electric mountain bike should be your next one.
Article Overview
First Impressions of the Aventon Ramblas
My Ramblas e-bike journey began with the unboxing. It was quickly apparent that Aventon produced a superior product to my first e-bike. The packaging was thoughtfully designed to create a stand for the bike once you lift the cover off, providing a helpful assist in the assembly process. The unboxing instructions are detailed and clearly displayed. The assembly includes clear written instructions and an accompanying assembly video.
Even with the time to film the process (including multiple takes), I unboxed, assembled, and prepped the bike for my inaugural ride in roughly two hours. Here are my first impressions:
Aventon nailed the packaging. It might seem small, but they thought about how the packaging would come apart and set you up for success in the assembly.
Assembly was straightforward. The written instructions left nothing to the imagination and were reinforced by clear visuals from the assembly video.
It’s a looker. The bike just looks awesome. I went with the Borealis color, but they also have a limited edition Aurora that looks epic. Multiple folks have stopped me to ask what I’m riding…so that’s not just my opinion!

Aventon Electric Mountain Bike Features
Whether this is your first electric bike or you’re comparing the Aventon Ramblas with several competitors, these features will help you make your final determination. The Ramblas offers:
Smart, Rugged Construction. From a convenient dropper post and a clamp-on front headlight to a 6061 single-butted aluminum alloy hardtail frame, Maxxis Rekon tires, and Sram DB8 hydraulic disk brakes, you get a high-quality e-bike with the Aventon Ramblas.
Mid-Drive Motor. This is a first in the Aventon line-up. The mid-drive motor is powered by a 36V battery that harnesses up to 250 watts of sustained power and up to 750 watts at peak power. That allows the motor to deliver up to 100nm of torque, giving you a quick, powerful start to any ride.
3 Pedal Assist Levels. Select Eco, Trail, or Turbo for low to high assist, depending on terrain and ride preference.
Personalized Ride Tuning. Download the Aventon app to tune the Ramblas to your riding style. You can customize the Assistance level, Pedal Response, and Max Torque to your liking.
Intelligent System Updates. The bike received over-the-air software updates through the Aventon app to stay current without plugging in or taking it to a bike shop.
Efficient Drivetrain. The Sram NX 12-speed drivetrain makes this mountain bike easy to ride and extremely efficient, even if you’re not using the pedal assist.
Who Is this Aventon Electric Mountain Bike Best For?
While the lack of rear suspension may be a turn-off for some riders, there are trade-offs. That means less maintenance if you’re not an experienced bike tech. It also means a more affordable price tag, allowing beginners to wade into the mountain biking waters without such a steep investment.
The Ramblas Aventon electric mountain bike is perfect for seasoned bikers looking for a bike that can handle their favorite downhill sections while making it easier to keep up with younger riders on the climbs. I’ve run into several older bikes that bought this Aventon e-bike to keep up with their kids on the trail.
I’m an aspiring mountain biker of beginner to intermediate skill level. I love the fact that this e-bike is on the lighter end, compared to other electric bikes. It allows me to use it as a normal mountain bike in situations that dictate the need—such as my local trails disallowing e-bikes on certain days.
Its lightweight design also makes it easy to load onto the bike rack of my travel trailer. It’s a great way to explore new destinations, get a feel for the campground we select, or give my Husky puppy some much-needed high-speed exercise.
